The Hyannis Sound
Scope of Work
The Hyannis Sound is an a cappella singing group comprised of ten college-age men who convene on Cape Cod each summer in the same rented house. Since 1994, they have packed houses up and down the Cape. Many of their alumni have been instrumental (heh) in a cappella’s rising popularity through films like Pitch Perfect. We’ve been making stuff for them from the beginning.
TAF designed specialty merchandise for the group’s 20th anniversary concert in 2014, including a custom necktie from Vineyard Vines.
For their 2015 studio album art we explored the colorful language of signal flags which hang from boats and marinas up and down Cape Cod. The primary color palette and simple elemental graphics of the flags dovetailed beautifully with the Sound’s own palette and the elemental musical qualities of a cappella. The front of the album displays its title, H2O. The back cover spells out “The Hyannis Sound” on a 45° angle.
