Working Together to Bridge the Digital Divide
Digital equity ensures everyone has access to the skills, equipment, and reliable internet needed to fully participate in modern life. It’s essential for equity across all areas—health care, education, employment, housing, and more—as these aspects increasingly rely on technology. The Alliance for Digital Equity, a coalition of community-focused organizations, works to raise awareness, connect trusted partners, and create solutions that close the digital divide in Western Massachusetts. Transit Authority Figures has helped craft their brand identity, design impactful reports, build their website, and develop outreach materials. Together, we’re advancing equity by expanding access, increasing collaboration, and ensuring no one is left behind in our technology-driven society.
The Alliance serves the 102 towns and cities in Hampden, Hampshire, Franklin and Berkshire counties of Western Massachusetts. One of the main issues is access—high-speed internet may not be affordable to people with lower incomes in urban and suburban areas, and it may not be available in rural areas.
Since our collaboration began, the Alliance has grown from 20 to over 100 partner organizations —securing over $6 million in grant funding along the way.
Our work with the Alliance has been multifaceted, including:
- Brand Identity Development: Designing a compelling logo and cohesive brand that embodies the Alliance’s mission.
- Reports on Digital Equity: Creating polished, impactful publications that highlight challenges, successes, and opportunities for progress.
- Website Design and Development: Building a user-friendly, visually engaging online hub for resources, partner information, and advocacy efforts.
- Graphic Design: Producing engaging flyers, event materials, and digital assets that amplify the Alliance’s initiatives.
We created a suite of accessible Canva templates for Alliance members to make it easy for them to create their own posters and flyers while ensuring a coherent brand identity.
